The Seven Spirits

Now the law and the prophets, which are the Old TEstament, which the people had in their churches when Jesus was alive, foretold of Jesus coming to Earth as a man. It was foretold that Jesus would be killed, and He would arise again three days later. Jesus told us that the next time He comes to Earth, He will come to Earth not as a man, but as God.

St. Matthew Chapter 24

29 ¶ Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not
give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven,
and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man
in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth
mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in
the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of
a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect
from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the
other.

Jesus already fulfilled Scripture and came here as a man, so we know He will appear again as God when He returns, just as He said He would. Jesus came here the first time to save us, the second time will be to redeem those He saved.

Now who is the greatest prophet ever? Jesus told us it is John the Baptist. What this tells us is for one thing, Jesus is not a prophet. If He was, He would certainly be a greater prophet than John. A prophet is a man who speaks for God, essentially, and God speaking is not being a prophet, it is the word of God. This also answers any questions we might have about other prophets. Prophets of islam? Not greater than John. Prophets of muhammad? Not greater than John. Prophets of buddhism? Less than John. All prophets are less than John. Jesus is not a prophet. He came here to fulfill prophecy, not make prophecies. Jesus is the Son of God, therefore He is greater than any prophet.

St. Luke Chapter 7

28 For I say unto you, Among those that are born of
women there is not a greater prophet than John the
Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is
greater than he.

Speaking of the word of God, i mentioned earlier that there is no such thing as satan, other than what could be described as man’s disobedience to God. There is no red horned devil. There is no such thing as the “word of satan”. Satan never wrote anything. All the evil things that have been written have been written by man, and practiced by man. Satan is basically the state of rebellion against God, like a disobedient child who refuses to obey.

I was thinking about Scripture that says that an unclean spirit leaves a man, then finds dry places, and then returns unto that same man, and brings seven of his unclean buddies with him. Before i imagined a person being possessed by multiple unclean spirits and such. But now i see this is just an example. A person gives up their unclean spirit to become clean and whole, and live for God. But it turns out they run into dry places, uncomfortable, discontented with living a difficult life for God. So the unclean spirit returns to that man, and that man then becomes seven times worse than he was before. This does not mean literally seven spirits.

St. Matthew Chapter 12

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he
walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth
none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from
whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth
it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven
other spirits more wicked than himself, and they
enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that
man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also
unto this wicked generation.

Scripture tells us that we struggle against the powers that be.

Ephesians Chapter 6

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.

It is the struggle of good against evil. Fortunately, this movie is just about over, and as in all good movies, good wins in the end. We love seeing the good guys win, and watching the bad guys fry.
