My Better Half

I read something recently that supported my beliefs about creation. I also read before that God’s name, as it is recorded in Hebrew history YHWH represents the male and female chromosomes, and actually mean YH and H, which represents a male chromosome, of both X and Y. Then i began to understand that God created woman out of the DNA of man, not an actual rib from Adam’s ribcage. God made woman out of the DNA that was already present in man. Because man contains chromosomes for both male and female. Therefore, for God to create woman, all He had to do was separate it from the male who contains both.

Scripture even supports this. IN Genesis we read that God created man both male and female, in the image of God.

Genesis Chapter 1

27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Before, i mistakenly thought this meant God created both man and woman. But i wasn’t paying attention, and i finally realized God did not create woman until Genesis 2. So clearly Scripture is telling us that man is created in the image of God, and contains both male and female chromosomes.

Genesis Chapter 2

20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.

Here in Genesis 2 we see that Adam is all alone. Woman has not yet been created.

21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

In the bronze age, men didn’t have the capability to understand chromosomes and DNA and molecules and such, so God wrote it in a language we can all easily understand, even a baby. Because it was a rib that God used, just not the one we tend to think of. This is an old caveman belief that some people still believe today.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

This means that every man contains the genetic makeup of both male and female, and if he was able, a man could actually have both male and female halfs to him created. Weird! But then i thought too that we were created in God’s image. And God being YHWH also contains both male and female chromosomes, and so now i can also understand how Heavenly Mother was created!
