Strength Training

Last year, in 2015, Heavenly MOther told me “enjoy your suffering”. Now if you are suffering, that’s not what you like to hear.  I didn’t understand what She was teaching me. But now i being to see. When you begin to understand why, then you will begin to enjoy your suffering. Weird, but True.

Heavenly MOther told me to enjoy my suffering, and also i read a quote from Bruce Lee who said not to pray for an easy life, but to pray for strength to live a difficult life. That’s been my prayer for a long time – that God will grant me strength, not to overcome my brothers, but to overcome my greatest enemy, which is myself. So what happens is, over time, when you are living a difficult life, you keep praying for strength, and over time you become stronger, and stronger. An easy life does not make you strong. A difficult life makes you strong. How strong can you get? God can make people very strong. Very strong how? In what way?

God can give us enough strength to overcome our ownselves. In time and practice and discipline, and strength building. At first it is difficult. Our usual way of life is for the body to control the body. But when the spirit conquers the self, when the spirit conquers the body, as in taming a wild horse, then the self submits to the dominant will of the Spirit. Once you have conquered self, then you have achieved self mastery over the body, and you control it at will. You have tamed the body, and now have full control over self.  ONce you have achieved this level, it is unlikely that the body will ever be able to be in control again, and it no longer requires a great struggle to maintain control over the body. Kind of like training a dog. At first it’s difficult, but once trained, the dog is at your command.

Now if God is giving us difficult lives, He is doing it in order to make us stronger. Why? He is refining us, in fire. Why? I don’t know. But when we realize God is making us stronger by giving us difficult lives, we begin to see that it is not a curse, but it is a blessing. Why did God pick us to make us stronger? I don’t know! But we begin to see that it is a blessing God has given us, and then we begin to enjoy our suffering, and pray for more strength, and so on, and so on. So if God has given you a difficult life, it is a blessing. Whether your life is difficult from family issues, or having been war veterans or victims, or any reason you have a difficult life, you can see that it makes you stronger. It does not make you weaker.  And that is why when life is difficult, we pray for strength. It is a Gift that God gives us to make us stronger. And the greatest strength of all is to have self mastery, or control over self.

St. Matthew Chapter 7

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your
children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give
good things to them that ask him?
12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to
you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

Revelation Chapter 3

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and
have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and
miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest
be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the
shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with
eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and
repent.
