The Least Of These, My Brethren

Today i understand another basic Truth. And that is that people who don’t respect their brothers don’t respect God. People who do respect God do respect their brothers. This basic Truth is shared with us in Scripture

Matthew Chapter 25

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto
you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my
brethren, ye have done it unto me.

We are told that whatever we do to the least of the brethren, we did it to Jesus. So if we disrespect our brethren, then we also disrespect God. This goes hand in hand with our Golden Rule Do unto others as you would have done to yourself. Because we are to love our brethren even as much as we love ourselves.

Now we can see the LIght from this basic Truth using the following example. Let’s say you are talking with some people about science, and technology, and religion and philosophy. One drunk or somehow mentally deficient guy, all he can ever say is something like You have long hair. You look like a girl. And the people say, whatever. And they try to continue in their discussion. But the deficient guy, all he keeps saying is the same thing, over and over. Maybe it was funny ten years ago, but after he said it every day it got really old. But that’s all he knows. He can’t add to the discussion and he doesn’t want to understand. He’s deficient. He came into the discussion without understanding, and he’s not getting any either.

I thought about this, and you would be better off trying to have an intelligent discussion with a dog. Because a dog will at least listen to you. A dog will try to understand you. A dog will use the good sense that God gave it. And most dogs will listen, and learn, and obey their masters. And all the while, loving their master one thousand percent. So if you talk to a dog, at least the dog will listen and try to understand you. And this is a lot more than you can say about a lot of people.

I begin to realize that not only do the people disrespect God, whatever they do to their brothers they also do to God. Such as killing them, torturing them, being mean to them. I thought, why do the people do this to God? And i realize, the people have No understanding. They have No knowledge. They have No desire to learn the Truth. People made up their own reality, and they want to live in it. So many of them will not listen, learn or obey.

I also realize that eating corpses is an abomination, and yet, for many people, it may not even matter what they ate. Many people will be condemned for their Words, lies, making oaths and what they said, things they said such as disrespecting God. Jesus tells us directly that people can and will be in danger of hell fire by what they Say

Matthew Chapter 5

21 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt
not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother
without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever
shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but
whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Many people will be condemned by their words. So it will just be another thing on the list that they get condemned for, lying, abominations, etc. I think St Francis had the right idea. Because if you preach to the animals, they will at least listen to you.

In the Gospel of Thomas, Jesus tells us that if someone explains God and everything to that person, and they are still deficient, then they are completely deficient.

Gospel of Thomas

(67) Jesus said, “If one who knows the all still feels a personal deficiency, he is completely deficient.”

I guess if people don’t even believe in God then there is no way that they are going to listen, learn and obey God, let alone respect Him. People don’t seem to have any knowledge or understanding what it means to be respectful, reverent and holy.
